چکیده

Abstract. Using templates for conceptual modeling is becoming a fashionable way to guide and facilitate Domain Experts in providing rich and good quality knowledge. A possibility to build templates without starting from scratch is grounding them on existing foundational and core ontologies. In this paper we investigate how these ontologies can be effectively used for the construction of templates able to guarantee a balance between usability and rigorousness. We report findings and lesson learned from a survey carried out for the evaluation of templates built from existing foundational and core ontologies in the enterprise domain.

Decision support telemedicine systems: A conceptual model and reusable templates.

Decision support telemedicine systems (DSTSs) are systems combining elements from telemedicine and clinical decision support systems. Although emerging more, these types of systems have not been given much attention in the literature. Our objective is to define the term DSTS, to propose a general DSTS model, and to propose model-based templates to aid DSTS development for three medical tasks. T...

A Generic Framework for the Modeling of Contexts and its Applications

Large information bases that are used by several different users and applications accommodate the demands of their users more effectively, if they can be split into possibly overlapping fragments, called contexts. The latter allow one to focus attention on specific concerns such as topics, tasks, or user-views. This paper proposes a conceptual, generic framework for contexts supporting context-...

The Agents Coordination and Templates Aggregation in Distributed Modeling

To group the agents from various areas for the solution modeling of large-scale, sophisticated systems or issues, we has developed a distributed modeling methodology and its networked supporting platform [1]. The upcoming problems are, however, how to coordinate (organize, supervise, evaluate) such distributed modeling agents, and how to aggregate a number of modeling templates for the best sol...

Reusing Conceptual Models: Language and Extensible Compiler

This paper presents a textual programming language for conceptual modeling (based on UML classes/associations and OCL constraints) and its compiler that can generate code in any target language or technology via extensible textual templates, both currently under initial stage of development. The language and compiler should allow the specification of information managed by ever-changing, increa...

Evaluating Conceptual Models and Modeling Languages: The Quest for Sensible Evaluation Criteria and Methodic Guidance

Thinking and reasoning about evaluating conceptual models and modeling languages has a long, intricate history (e. g. The discussion includes numerous proposals for evaluation criteria and corresponding methodic g...
